After the holidays, we will continue to work on our literacy skills using rich literature to inspire us. here are a list of some of the books we will sure and the focus for each book.

Mouse Mess By Linnea Riley - beginning letter sounds
Eating the Alphabet: Fruits and Vegetables from A to Z by Lois Ehlert - identifying fruits and vegetables
Alphabears by Kathleen Hague - letter and name recognition
Olivia Saves the Circus by Ian Falconer - sounds spelling
Sheila Rae, the Brave by Kevin Henkes - how print is organized
The Cookie-Store Cat by Cynthia Rylant - organizing letters and words
Top Cat by Lois Ehlert - rhyming words
These are a few of the books we will enjoy in January. If you have them at home or use the public library, read them to your child so when they are introduced to them in class they are familiar.
